I kinda thought that's what you meant, but the "itte" threw me a bit. I read it as the basic verb "to do". In the dialect I learned...or the prof I learned it from...they leaned toward the more formal verbs. BTW, Mo ichi-do means "one more time" or "once more". Been too many years since I used it, so CRS doncha know.

I have this email buddy who is from near Osaka, but now lives in Tokyo. She and her 5-year old daughter came to see us about four years ago. They speak a little different dialect than I learned, but we got along. The little girl was smart as a whip, but hadn't been exposed to different dialects. As a jovial way of saying "let's go" when we were about to leave the house, I would say "Ikimasho". She thought it was a new English word she'd never heard before. Laughed my butt off. Around Osaka they use the Kanto dialect and most of their verb forms are the basic/stem types.

Anyway, trip north. It had been about 12 years since we had been there. It's about 75 miles west of St Louis, 45 miles east of Columbia just off I-70. Was colder than I care for even though it was up to mid/high 50s in the day.

My friend piddles with a garden or two and had several varieties of peppers. Some I had never seen or heard of. Not that that means a lot since I'm certainly not an expert on peppers. He gave me a big sackful of different types. One was called a chocolate bell pepper. I'd never heard of it. It's a bell pepper 'cept it's chocolate in color...actually, it looks more like a dark egg plant. 3-4 varieties of jalapenos, anaheims, 4 different bells plus the chocolate. There was one blazing hot one. He didn't know what it was, but I think they were some kind of souped up tabasco pepper. I canned several jars of picante sauce last night using them. Gotta go get some more jars this morning so I can finish using them before they go limp. Know whadda mean?

Did just a little browsing of the local German heritage area. Visited one of the German type wineries along the Mo. river. There's over 20 of them along the river. We did most of them the last time we were up there. Didn't feel like getting that shitfaced this time. When you taste test several different wines at each winery, you tend to talk and walk a little strange by the time you visit 15-16 of them.
