TWO TIGERS TO TRAIN WITH U.S. NATIONAL SQUADS

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Jennifer Joines (Milpitas, Calif.) and Addie Mahnken (Hauschild) were selected to train with the U.S. National Teams on May 8. Joines, who will be a junior for the Tigers in the fall, will train with the U.S. A-2 National Program for a second year in a row, while Addie Mahnken (Hauschild) trains with U.S. National Team.

Joines is one of 20 collegiate players who will train with the A-2 National Team. Joines who trained with the A-2 National Team last summer is the 11th player in Pacific’s history to train with the U.S. Junior National Program.

She is going into her junior season after coming off a year where she was named a Second-Team AVCA All-American for the second year in a row, while also becoming only the second Tiger in school history to record 600 kills in a season.

Mahnken (Hauschild), who is the older sister of current Tiger setter Megan Hauschild (Sacramento, Calif.) and played for the Tigers from 1994-97, is only the fifth Tiger to train with U.S. National Team. She joins current Tiger head coach Jayne McHugh (1984-88), Eileen Dempster (1986), Elaina Oden (1986-96) and Teri McGrath (1988-91) as Pacific women’s volleyball players who have trained with the U.S. National Team. McHugh and Oden both competed United States Olympic squad.
