Try to be like ODU. They play in a terrible conference but actually make it far into the NCAA.

Hey Tsar, I think you know that my horse isn't very high. I really do believe that the weak conference masks flaws in the Gauchos' women's team. For instance, a lot of Gaucho fans have been wondering why we put up with such sloppy ball handling. Well, if every year you win basically every game for 2/3 of the season I guess it's tough to sell the idea that you need change. Look at the UOP game in the tourney (or even the Fullerton game I guess)--if the Gauchos had to play an opponent like that every night, they'd be a better team. Their record may not be as good, but over the years they'd play better ball and would be better prepared for the tourney.

ODU's conference was ranked 15, the BW was 28. There are 8 teams in the Colonial ranked HIGHER (some of them much higher) than the thrid place team in the BW. Meanwhile, HALF of the BW is ranked 265 or lower. Come on, you can't tell me that doesn't stunt the growth of a team! That's like me, you, Jon, Freg and Casey playing pickup against a team of 6th graders for a month--sure we'd regularly beat them by 60 but would we be ready to take on the HS varsity?
