All-Big West honors for three Tigers

The Record

Junior Chris Tamas, sophomore Sean Rodgers and senior Dan Hoefer were named to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference volleyball teams on Wednesday.

Tamas, a setter, and Rodgers, a middle blocker, were placed on the second team, while Hoefer was an honorable mention selection.

Tamas finished the season with a career-high 1,308 assists, averaging 14.22 per game. He needs 134 more to surpass Russell Gan on the school's career assists list. He was fourth on the team with 144 digs.

Rodgers led Pacific with a .434 hitting percentage and had 288 kills. He led the team with 110 blocks and currently ranks first on the school's career hitting percentage list at .421.

Hoefer finished his career ranked fifth on Pacific's career games played list with 312, and sixth in both kills with 833 and total blocks with 223.

Pepperdine swept the conference's top honors with coach of the year Marv Dunphy, player of the year Brad Keenan and freshman of the year Sean Rooney.
