Subject: USPV Post-Season Awards

The Minnesota Chill won huge when the USPV post-season awards were handed out earlier this week, taking home two: Lindsey Berg won for Outstanding Server, and the immortal Addie Mahnken was named Libero of the Year.

Berg led the league with 37 aces in 18 league matches, for a 2.1 average, which also led the league. She got 4 aces 4 times, and had a 12-match ace streak. Berg, who has been clocked in the upper 50s, also had 5 double-doubles on the year.

Addie was a huge defensive hero for the Chill this year, leading to her winning the libero award. She got 228 digs in the 18 league matches for a 12.7 average; both led the USPV as only three player had even 200 digs. She also led the league in digs per game with 3.4. In 13 matches, Addie got double-digit digs, including a whopping 28 in a 3-2 loss to St. Louis April 2, which tied for league-best. Addie was also rated the USPV's best passer, grading out at 2.57 on a scale of 3. In 501 attempts, Addie only had 15 errors. Wow!

In playoff news, Chill player Nicole Branagh was named MVP of the semifinal series with Grand Rapids.

The finals begin Sunday in Rochester, when the Chill and the immortal Addie Mahnken host the Chicago Thunder.
