Subject: USPV Finals Move to Chicago Tied

It took overtime, but the Minnesota Chill squared their series with the Chicago Thunder 1-1 with a 3-2 victory in Rochester last night. The line score was 16-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-16, 15-11. The finals move to Chicago Thursday night, where the Thunder entertain Minnesota at 7 pm in the St Xavier University's Shannon Center.

The Chill were paced by outside hitter Mary Coleman, whose 20 pts (17 kills, 2 blks, 1 ace) and 7 digs led to her nomination as Player of the Match. Also contributing immensely to the winning effort were outside hitter Nicole Branagh (13-0.5-1-14.5, 13 digs), middle blocker Wiz Bachman (11-3.5-0-14.5, 2 digs), and outside hitter Tyra Harper (11-3-1-15, 11 digs). The Chill's famous libero, the immortal Addie Mahnken, was back on track with 20 digs.

The Thunder were led once again by regular-season scoring leader Kristee Porter. The outside hitter was 16-3.5-1-20.5 and 16 digs to lead all scorers. Also helping Chicago were middle blockers Terri Zemaitis-Boumans (9-7.5-0-16.5, 1 dig) and Kelly Kennedy (8-2-0-10, 2 digs).

Be sure to watch for more on the exploits of Addie the Great!
