We've already tried this. Back in '95, senior QB Nick Sellers (now the policy director for the Governor of Alabama) and one of his buddies from the D-Line (I forget his name) formulated a workable plan to make the football team self-sufficient from the athletic budget by Y2K through the use of an endowment. They took this excellent plan to the head of the Board of Regents (you know, the guy who has part of the 205 or 580 named after him), and he flat out refused to take it to the whole board. It was probably his idea to bring in that idiot de Rosa in the first place. Until we get rid of those two nincompoops, football will never return. And, if it does, it will probably be under the restrictions that mcgeorge mentioned. I sure do hope we can get this worked out. Because, if we do, my name is first in line for the head coaching job. Even though I have only two years as a high school assistant under my belt, by the time this happens, I could be old and gray!
