一天，三个乞丐躺在阳光下的街角，谈起各自的理想。
乞丐甲说：“我的理想是每天能够填饱肚子，用别人施舍的衣物抵御冬天的寒风，夜里能躺在某户人家的门前安然度过。”
乞丐乙听了，笑道：“怪不得我们被人家叫做叫化子，就凭你这点‘猪栏理想’，总有一天会暴尸街头。现在已是21世纪了，怎么还能固守千年来的传统乞讨方式一成不变呢？你看看我，我的理想是像有钱人那样佩一个BP机，随时和乞丐兄弟们保持联系，传递最新信息，和现代社会接轨。”正说着，腰间BP机作响，乞丐乙掏出BP机，看了看，忙说：“有情况！”甲凑上去，机上显示：中安酒家有剩菜，速至！
乞丐乙正要离去，乞丐丙眯了眼念道：“丢人现眼为哪般，只怪衣食把人缠。人生若无长远志，劳碌奔波总不闲。二位的理想真是鼠目寸光，实在可笑至极。”
甲乙二人顿感诧异问，“你的远大理想又是什么呢？”
“先存一大笔钱。” 丙说。
“存钱之后呢？”
“有了钱，在全市最豪华的黄金地段买一栋大楼，然后———”
二人一听，肃然起敬，忙追问，“然后呢？”
“然后就可以从容地坐在自己楼前的空地上讨钱。”
