I think the one major moment we got from Darla in a painfule emotional state was in Epiphany. The trick is for the writers, if they want to go this way, is to keep up that level of sympathy. This is why I think, like you Blue, is that Darla will spend a few scenes with the baby, maybe an episode and the next thing she knows it is taken away by Holtz or W&H. From there, Darla could slide into a catatonia or rebound and start finding her baby with the ferociousness of a mama bear.
