Richie was most recently the R candidate for Lt Gov. on the latest ticket with House majority leader David Williams, leaving in his wake massive scandals from his 8-year term as Ag commissioner like putting his gf (he might even be married to someone else to boot) on the payroll, more than 100K in unreturned/missing/unaccounted for laptops & office equipment issued to his office, massive billing for rooms at the Hyatt for basketball game attendance at Rupp (when he lives just 30 miles down the road in Frankfort) etc.

RF hails from Clay county, possibly the most scandal-ridden county in Ky recently in the terms of vote-buying & patronage scamming, dirty deals & directors of exposed government services board abuses, etc.

The recently-elected new Ag commish recently comes out big for industrial hemp as new cash crop for Kentucky, which Richie couldn't even get on board for that.
