In interviews from early in Suzanne Vega's career. She was a devout Nichuran Buddhist -- raised by atheist stepfather who converted and then got whole family into the religion. Suzanne was quite enthusiastic about the impact of chanting on her life which from what I gathered really seemed to be very similar to the practice of "visualization". She still has her scroll, etc. and follows her religion at least to some degree, but not as passionately as in the past. As for me, I still love her as an artist and a person. I think she's extremely good hearted and caring even if I disagree with her on a few things and her lyrics are pure poetry.
