I am not at all arguing that we currently take a lot of threes - or even close to an average amount. We certainly don't. What I was saying is that Roy doesn't have "Denny Crum's disease" - as evidenced by past history and recruits.

Our lack of current three-point shooting is due in no small part to the strength of our interior scorers. But even moreso, it's due to the fact that for the past two seasons, we have been starting a backcourt that doesn't shoot threes. And I think that is more a matter of unforeseen circumstances than anything else.

Both Dexter and Marshall were recruited very early in their high school careers. The hope/expectation is that both would be better outside shooters than they are. And also, Dex was envisioned as a point guard not a two when we recruited him. In addition, Barnes has made a deliberate point to settle less for the outside jump shot this year.

there are other factors - Roy's crusade to push tempo and the secondary break. Injuries - last year to Bullock and this year to Leslie McDonald, etc.

Basically, I am saying that circumstances more than philosophy have influenced our 3pt shooting rate. Definitely an area of concern - though I think we have a better balance with Bullock now in the starting lineup.
