i used to do a similar thing when i was younger in inner-tubes. it was great fun, but i was frustrating to spend 5 hours in a creek and only travel 3 miles by road. hee hee

i'll definately take your warning to heart. living on the river, as i have for the past 6 or 7 years, i've seen it do some crazy stuff. actually, about 10 years ago, my dad and brother saved some guy from drowning around memorial day i think. there was mad flooding and this guy (who couldn't swim and was not wearing a life jacket) and a friend were trying to get his pontoon boat out of the river. well, he was in a small aluminum boat, when he fell out. he managed to grab it, but was literally minutes from losing hold because of the exhaustion and cold. he happened to come close to the bank by our place and they used drainage pipe we were laying to pull him out. needless to say, his efforts to find that elusive nor'west passage were a failure.

congrats on the purchases. do you know of any good and simple to understand chess sites? i have visited several awhile back, but i gave up in frustration as they were written over my head. i played for the first time in a long while last wkend against my brothers. i suck. i lost a game in like four moves (a trick i always fall for because i'm a sucker), but then bounced back with 2 or 3 victories. of course they were stoned and half-way drunk by then. they fell for my trick to let intoxication set in.

take care of yourselves,

chamberlain
