Subject: suzi - Policy is full of it

On the quarterback debate, Policy seemed on board with the concept of having Tim Couch compete for the starting job with Kelly Holcomb. "I love a quarterback competition," Policy said, looking back on his experience with the San Francisco 49ers. "I've seen it bring out the best in the best. I was there when Joe Montana was being pushed by another surefire Hall of Famer.

"I believe that Joe would not have hit the peak that he hit were it not for the drive created by the competition with Steve Young. Thank God we have two good guys."

I bet this will come as news to Joe Montana -- that he needed to be pushed to reach his potential. Funny, I always thought Joe was as self-motivated as they come. I wonder if he agrees with Policy's assertion that he needed to be "pushed."
