I had forgotten I'd mentioned it. Unfortunately, she started out at a really crappy hospital -- as someone who used to work for the public hospital system pointed out to me "Kings County is a great hospital to go to if you're shot right outside it's emergency room..."

I felt bad about not getting her out of there right away but everyday the babysitter said "they're letting me out today." I kept figuring I could get a doc at my hospital to examine her once she was free. The initial impression I'm getting from the babsitter and my moles is that the problem can be taken care of (apparently she has a congenital hole in her heart that had never been detected) and there appears to be no permanent damage from the previous episodes. She's only 43, by the way. Very scary.
