Taken at face value, that pol's statement sounds true and would be a reasonable evaluation of the risks. However, it IS a monumentally stupid statement for a politician to make, especially a Democrat. So much of politics has been converted to emotive reactions instead of reason and a statement like that flies in the face of "sensitivity", bullshit, blah, etc. Considering that she's a Dem and the Dem's have made emotive politics into an art form ("It's for the kids!") that was a pretty dumb move. But truthful.
