just an FYI -- I'm not going to respond in the Jungle to your response to my posting of the rich/poor stat. I thought it was a really interesting number and I kind of wanted to see what would happen if I posted it with no editorializing or follow-up.

For the record, I thought the number was incredible -- knew there was a gulf there and that it was growing, but never knew the extent.

My main reaction is that it's a shame that CEO's have no shame any longer. There was a time when the corporate culture dictated that CEO's not make themselves excessively, filthy rich. That has been replaced, I think, by an ethos (in general) that says get all you can while you can. While I would not go so far as to say anything so dramatic as that it threatens to destroy this country, I would say that overall, it's not a good thing.
