Puke more than anyone, thank God.

I wish I had some great Waldo stories - apparently I have become drop dead boring in my old(er) age. Tiggerpalooza was a pretty good time - it was fun spending time with those I hadn't met or talked to much. MadCat and Russ are a riot. And BrainFry too, and pretty sharp to boot. I think everyone took a shot at the mike - including yours truly cranking out my favorite rendition of my favorite Frank S. song. I snuck out a little early, in time to pay a surprise visit to the local drunks at murph's, who still have my picture hanging on the wall, God bless 'em.

I have two food requirements when I'm back in the 'nati - Skyline and Donato's. I drove through Skyline at about 3am on my way to the hotel, where I hadn't checked in yet. I go to the counter, where the kid says "hmmm... I just shut off all the computers. I'll have to do this manually. I'm not sure how to do that." I decided that waiting for him to figure it out would probably result in me peeing my pants, so I headed for the men's room, and by the time I returned he had figured it out. Sort of. I only had to visit the counter once on saturday to correct something. And once on Sunday. And call twice. Dumbass.

At about 3:15 I get into the room, ready to dive into Skyline, and of course the late night shift didn't bother with plastic-ware for me. So I go back to dumb-ass and ask if he can get me a fork out of the restaurant. He actually tells me he can't - he's not allowed to leave the front desk. But he can call security to get it for me. Security is several hundred pounds of old goat all balled up into one man, who sits in his little office when things are quiet and looks at porn on the internet. It takes him about 15 minutes to put it back in his pants and come out and get me a place setting.

I eat my 3-way and fall dead to the world until late the next morning. I have some shopping to do - I wanted a jersey to wear to the game, which I ended up getting downtown after being unimpressed with the selection at eastgate mall. I got back to my room with the intention of napping in front of the Illinois game (I call it that to piss off the Buckeye fans) after eating an entire Donato's pepperoni pizza. I'm embarrassed to admit that I couldn't remember the number for Donato's eastgate (although I should be embarrassed to admit that I expected to remember the number of the local pizza place after a year and a half). So I looked it up in the book - except it wasn't there. I called the front desk and asked what the hell happened to Donato's Eastgate? She said they closed, and haven't opened one in the area since.

So I called Donato's - Anderson Township and asked if they delivered to Eastgate. She said "parts of it." I said "how about the Holiday Inn part?" She said - "nope, not that part." I asked where they were on Beechmont, and placed and order for carryout, hopped in the rental car and picked it up. I ate the whole thing (minus one of those little corner pieces - I'm not a pig), washed it down with a two-liter of diet coke, and passed out, needing the rest for another night at Murph's.

Which was fun once again, but two of my closest friends from the bar are father and son, who live in the same house, and apparently aren't speaking to each other right now. I sort of got caught in the middle, with Dad's girlfriend walking right up to me while I'm talking to Son and ask if I wanted to sit at the other table. By this time, my brother had arrived, was exhausted after working all day and then driving from Indy - we were getting up early (I like to be first at the tailgate), so I excused myself and got the hell out.

Geoff and I were up at about 730 and tailgating by 900 - once again first, if you don't count Russ and the MOC clan. I did partake in one weak bloody mary and one community shot of Jager, but no beer is still the presiding rule in my life. We scalped a couple of tickets (paid a little over face to get it done early and in the section we wanted - if we were more patient and less picky we could have gotten in pretty cheap I think, but I'm ok with what we paid). The tailgate was great - Russ has offered up a primo location for this crowd every week, with the added advantage of a warm building/bathroom on-site.

The bad guys won, as you guys know, but I proudly wore my new corey dillon jersey in the airport and in my first-class seat on the flight home. I got home late Sunday night, went straight to bed, took a nap this afternoon, and for some reason I'm still exhausted... ahh well, I have a little over a week to rest up before the next story-generating road trip - Waldo drives to Las Vegas and LA for Thanksgiving with three other guys who have nothing better to do, goes to the ND-USC game, and drives straight through back. Ugh, I'm getting more tired by the minute, just thinking about it.
