... to turn that around, he doesn't buy into the copout that "somebody else made me do what i did, take advantage of you/themselves, make them the mess that they are today, etc". if a person is not in control of themselves and their life to the extent that they will accept responsibility for and can be, then they should just turn themselves over to somebody else to do it for them (as many do and in many forms, consciously or not)? if you don't take control of yourself then is it someone else's fault if you let them usurp that control from you?

as far as garbage in/garbage out, most people don't even entertain the idea that they are the ones exerting authority of and responsibility for themselves, let alone that that should be their own personal JOB 1 (so that others do not HAVE to be altruistic in their behalf) ... and of course, there would always be extreme extenuating circumstances and certain situations beyond anyone's control ...
