Hello Everybody:

I watched Mr Singapore 2002 finals and it is another great show. It is really glad that Singapore pageant's standard are getting better and better.

However, the only 2 bad points are that the place is really small and squeezy (hope they get a bigger location for finals next year) and that the pageant took a long time to finish. It started late (10.00pm), have a long break (more than half an hour probably due to waiting of a missing judge) thus the winner was only announced after 12.00am. Therefore, very few people stayed for the Cornation (I also left before that as it is really late thus has no idea what happened then).

But for the pageant, the top 10 results are as follows:

1)Ang Mo Kio
2)Bedok
3)Bukit Merah
4)Choa Chu Kang
5)Eunos
6)Hougang
7)Marine parade
8)Punggol
9)Sengkang
10)Tampines

In this first round, my greatest surprise is that Mr Pasir Ris is out of top 10 as he is my top 5 choice. Good looks and good body should easy make him a semi-finalist. On the otehr hand, my surprise is Mr Punggol which may have earned more point into top 10 with his special and nice-looking suit.

After swimsuit and evening gown ,the top 5 are announced and they are

1)Ang Mo Kio
2)Bukit Merah
3)Choa Chu Kang
4)Eunos
5)Sengkang

and the strong contestant that was not included in this round is Mr Hougang that has a terrific body. However, his looks is more unconventional thus not all judges will appreciaite his "beauty" that might have pulled his score down. He also excelled in interview but that was not available in top 10 for him to perform (like Miss Universe).

The surprise this round are Mr Choa Chu Kang and Mr Ang Mo Kio, but both of them improved greatly in their performance that night. After a round of interviews, the official results were announced and

2nd runner-up - Mr Choa Chu Kang, Pete Borhan

1st runner-up - Mr Sengkang, Kenneth Gan (supposed to represent Singapore in Mr International Man (Hombre Internacional) but he may be in National Service by then thus I am not sure whether will he still represent Singapore)

Mr Singapore 2002 - Mr Bukit Merah, Chua Chong Keng (will represent Singapore in Mr Tourism International)

Actually, Mr Bukit Merah and Mr Eunos gave the best answers among the top 5. Therefore, Mr Bukit Merah is expected to win, but Mr Eunos was only awarded the 3rd runner-up. On the other hand, Mr Sengkang that gave a relatively poor interview got second which could be due to his good looks. However, he looked very young and seems to be more suitable for Mr Teen Singapore. Mr Choa Chu Kang answer is okay but Mr Ang Mo Kio was given an inappropiate question and thus answered poorly and scored last among the 5.

However, it is a nice show overall and I like the winner but he may need more training in walking as he is very stiff and in smiling (he don't smile at all!). I thought he is trying to act cool initially but I found out that he also hardly smile when he knew he won and during photo-taking.

For all the contestant's photo, please go to www.mistersingapore.org. The Streats and Newpaper today both has an article on the pageant and shared mainly about the lack of brains among contestants. For the others of you that went for the pageant, can you please also share your views?

I went to the preliminary show last night and the shiw is great. Everything is perfect and the 2 hosts works well with each other. It is also glad to see the contestants first time in the evening wear.

It is rather hard to choose top 10 and 5 but these are my 12 choices:

Hi guys,

Mr Singapore 2002 2nd preview was fantastic. Better than last week's 1st preview. The place was very packed. The 13 contestants are just as good as last week.

Here's my comments.
Bishan: good face but a little skinny. sings very well.
Kallang: average face and body.
Marine Parade: very good face but average body.
Pasir Ris: good face but a little skinny. intelligent and speaks german.
Punggol: looks like Hongkong star but need to lost weight.
Sembawang: good face and body but little short. intelligent.
Sengkang: good face and body and funny guy.
Serangoon: good face and body.
Tampines: THE BEST for the evening. very good face and the best body.
Toa Payoh: good face and good body.
Woodlands: good face but skinny.
Yishun: average.

I went to the Mr Singapore 2002 Preview this Tuesday and it went on extremely well. However, Alan Sim may need to communicate more with the co-host to cooperate better and to fine tune some of the minor hicupps that happened during the event (eg. the curtain-closing portion).

As for the contestants, the best among all is Mr Hougang. On top of having the best body, he can also talk extremely well. Only Mr Eunos performed better than him in interviews that night. On the other hand, it is sad to see some of the contestants choked on their interviews. Maybe they are really too nervous on stage.

On top of Mr Hougang and Mr Eunos, the other contestants I liked are Mr Ang Mo Kio, Changi and one of the Mr Bukit (forgotten exactly who).

By the way, the next preview of Mr Singapore will be held this coming Tuesday, 12/3 at the Boom Boom Room.

I just came from Mr Singapore Pageant 1st Preview. As usual the show was fantastic. The fashion round was great and the interview session was interesting too. The swim wear was the best! Unfortunately, Mr Choa Chu Kang nearly slipped at the steps during the swim wear round.

All in all, the 11 from 24 contestants are very good standard. This year contestants are so much better than 2001. By the way, anyone knows who is absent from todayÕs preview? I look forward to next week preview to see the next 13 contestants.

My views for today are

Ang Mo Kio: very good and proportionate body. Good face too.
Bedok: Nice abs but a little short. Good face too.
Bukit Batok: A little heavy but well tone body. Good face.
Bukit Merah: Good body and the best face.
Bukit Timah: Tall and nice body. Average face.
Changi: very good and muscular face. Sharp features.
Choa Chu Kang: Average body but very confident. Nice face.
Clementi: Not too good body but very tall. Over 190 cm tall!
Eunos: A little heavy but well toned body. Intelligent. Sweet face.
Hougang: Best body and smart.
Jurong: Average body and poor in interview.

My choices are Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, Bukit Timah, Changi, Eunos and Hougang.

It hard to choose as there are 13 more contestants. I think I saw some of them tonight because they look like those typical contestants. Tall and good face and body. I have to find out next week and give my choices for top 10.

This year's Miss Singapore Universe competition attracted 230 women, nearly double the number who entered last year.

But this has been whittled down to just 20 for the finals.

The women come from diverse backgrounds -- there are students, lawyers, chemists and even engineers.

The one thing they all have in common is the desire to be the "beauty with the brains".

The 20 finalists were chosen based on their performance in the swimwear and evening wear rounds.

The women now face the serious business of gearing up for the final showdown.

"For sure lots of beauty sleep is needed, exercising and drinking lots of water," said finalist Belinda Tan.

Another finalist, Tina Tan, said: "Just be natural about it. Don't over eat, keep fit, try not to fall sick."

Callie Sui Yong Roberts, another contestant, said: "I'm going to be reading more newspapers, of all the issues that are going round in the world because they might come up in the question and answer round.

"So I have to do a lot of preparation for that and also posture - maintain that and, speech - be more conscious of it too," she added.

The Grand Finals will be held at MediaCorp's TV Theatre on 23rd March

Temasek Polytechnic student Lisa Huang, 19, beat 16 others to the 14th Singapore Chinatown pageant crown last night.

Her x-factor? "Maybe my smile. I felt that by smiling all the time on stage, I would leave a deeper impression on the audience," said the younger child of a hotelier and housewife.

She will represent Singapore at Miss Chinese Internatinal 2002 pageant in Pangyu, China.

Even though he didn't place in the Top 3, Simon won Best International Costume & Mr. Friendship Awards.

It's a tough pageant for this year and hope Alan will send a great representative next year.

That was a night of quietness i suppose for all the shows so far.I spoke to a few contestants and saw the other side of them under the stage lights. They were great. I spoke to Mr.Sengkang just before the show started and i realise that he is a well mannered and well spoken young man who expresses himself real well. I had a short chat with him and also realise that he is such a friendly and courteous fellow who knows much about PR. Well, i also spoke to some contestants like Tampines and Changi and find them cute under the stage. I seem to see Mr.CCK to be at one corner w/o much pple talking to him and he seem to have a black face as well ( unhappy about not winning? ) They are all great young man and i totally enjoy their show for all the days be it good bad or embarrassing or excellent. May all the best things happen to them in future.

Hello Everybody:

I just came back from Mr Teen Singapore Coronation Night. It is an extremely amazing experience for me as I am really able to see all the contestants up front and how they behave under the stage (they are really very fun people).

For those that didn't come, you really missed a good opportunity to know the guys better (espically when there is no entrance fees charged for this coronation night event).

I even got a chance to speak with Mr Sengkang before the show started and it is really a wonderful experience. He is really friendly, fluent, and is as good-looking as on stage. I am also really glad to be able to take photos with some of the contestants too!

As for the program of coronation itself, it is interesting that there is a song by Mr Bukit Batok and even games with the contestants. Unfortunately, it is really short as the whole program finish in 30 minutes and people just disappear within the next 15 minutes. Will really prefer that there is some disco or program after that especially when it is held in a pub.

Like others, I like to congratulate Alan for a good job done and I really look forward to watch the Mr Singapore pageant in March. Also hope that most of this batch of contestants can also join the Mr Singapore pageant (if they meet the age limit).

Hello everyone,

I'm a Puerto Rican journalist living in New York City. I'm also a fan of male pageants. I enjoy watching male contests like Mister World, Mister Puerto Rico, Mister Joven Internacional and Hombre Internacional.

I do follow Hombre Internacional closely in Puerto Rico every year since 1998. However, in 2000 Singapore made a big impact on the contest with your country's 1st international winner. The same went to 2001 when Mister Singapore won the title again. This is a record in history! 2 international winners from the same country in 2 years. My congratulations to you all.

I was very impressed and interested on the organization that prepares Mister Singapore. I had the opportunity to meet the organizer of the Mister Singapore contest, Mister Alan Sim after Hombre Internacional 2001. We chatted briefly during one of the post-contest activities. Mister Sim gave me the impression that was lasting, determined, confident and knows what he wants; these are qualities an organizer should possess. Yet he is so humble and sincere.

I was also introduced by Mister Sim to Hombre Internacional 2000 (Zul Dawoo) and Hombre Internacional 2001 (Leon William). Both of them are exceptional professional, well mannered and impressive, and they were super, super prepared and knew how to handle all situations. Even the press and my Puerto Rican pals were super impressed!

Since then, I started to watch his pageants closely. I realized that when Leon won Mister Singapore 2001, he wasnÕt impressive because he didnÕt have the best body or face during the Mister Singapore 2001 contest. He was totally transformed for Hombre Internacional 2001. When I asked some people about the SingaporeÕs contestants, they all have one thing to say Š SUPER PREPARED! ThatÕs the key to success.

Many times when a national contest winner is crowned, there is always mixed reviews from the people. But with preparation, the winner is always super ready, and in this case, all the Mister Singapore winners are that.

I believe that Mister Nigel Lee who won Mister Teen Singapore 2001 will definitely be SUPER prepared and ready for MISTER TEEN INTERNATIONAL. I think so that when he begin to arrive for the contest, he will definitely be up for the running for the international title.

People always look forward to your Mister SingaporeÕs arrival to Puerto Rico to compete in the male contests here. To them, Singapore is the country to go after!

I believe that with Mister SimÕs preparation to Mister Lee, he will be up and ready for it. He doesnÕt have to be the countryÕs favorite or best looking guy. The point lies with his preparation and if he is ready to win it for the country.

I always admire Mister SimÕs ways of training your winners. He always has ways to do that to prepare your winner in the male contests. Who knows Mister Lee might win MISTER TEEN INTERNATIONAL 2002? I would think so that. As everyone says Singapore is the country to go after to win the international title.

Finally, to Mister Sim if youÕre reading this message and if you still remember me, congratulations on your success with your Mister Teen Singapore contest. I look forward to meeting you again in Puerto Rico soon. Best of luck to Mister Lee in Mister Teen International 2002.

P.S.: In my mind, youÕre the WINNER of Mister Joven Internacional 1997 and not the 1st Runner-up.

I just came from Mr Teen Singapore 2001. I am MOST IMPRESSED with the entire pageant, results, organisation and host. It was indeed a very very spectacular and impressive show. WOW!!!!!

The audience was very supportive towards all the contestants and again Alan did such a great job which was entirely FLAWLESS! I mean hey, he's not reading from a script and can managed to deliever such a great hosting job! It was so encouraging and nice of him to encourage the audience to cheer for all the contestants regardless of their favourites or not. This is such a great sportsmanship. The audience was clearly enjoying the shows and it seemd that the sponsors and judges were very very pleased with the entire event.

When he said that all the contestants are winners I think that touched a lot of audiences' and judges' heart. I agree with him that working with the contestants is so different from our point of view as audiences.

The casual wear, fashion wear and evening wear were superbe! I like the entertainment segments in between the break. Clearly the audiences were enjoying the show!

Now the results. The top 5 were good choices, although there were a few others just as good. It must be tough on the judges.

Sengkang's answer was good but a little but too long. Marine Parade choked on his answer. Bukit Merah didn't do well. Pasir Ris's answer was sincere and made sense. Toa Payoh's answer was not too bad.

In all, the choice of winner and runners-up were great. It must be disappointing for the crowd's favourite Bukit Merah to come in 3rd runner-up. His answer didn't promise a better position. It was a very tough fight between the 1st runner-up and winner. I guess the judges did a very good choice in choosing Pasir Ris. To me, Pasir Ris's look and performance just grow on me everytime.

It was also nice to see that all the other contestants were so happy that Pasir Ris won.

In summary, the entire pageant was superbe, impressive and spectacular. It was very entertaining, one of the best or THE BEST!!!

Alan's hosting was flawless and perfect. He looked so comfortable, encouraging (to the contestants) kept asking the audiences to clap for the contestants. He must have worked very hard for it.

The freebies... WOW! A program booklet, $30 discount voucher for photography session, skin care for all the audiences there.

The trophy for the winner was also impressive and BIG!

Well done Alan and well done contestants!!!

To Pasir Ris, do well and make us proud in Mr Teen International 2002. With Alan's grooming and your hard work, Singapore will wait for our 3rd int'l male title!

well the results werent as expected, as i have feel last night.
iwas impressed by toa payoh presenation and charm and also sengkang sppech and presentaion, well too bad none of these two clinch the title. the title actually went to someone so insignificant througout the pageant. that was a shock

well, we think that Pasir ris is not good enough for the job to represent Spore, he is a bad speaker, presenter, and thinker.he just simply look tall and look good.

What we think is that Alan Sim should actually choose Toa Payoh or Sengkang to represent Spore.They are more up to the job than Pasir ris.Sengkang is an excellent speaker, thinker and presenter at the same time. Toa Payoh has a charm and ok speech also. we just dont understand the results of the show...Pasir ris actually got TOP.That really sound so far a dream...gosh..never expected that even after the interviews and impressions, we thought sengkang and toa payoh are really gd.

well hope alan can consider the decision of sending eithee sengkang or toa payoh over to the pageant rather than pasir ris,as frankly speaking, i think we are bound to lose and spore is nound to be embarrassed by someone who is w/o charm, intellect and calibre.

We actually had a small bet on the winner and this was our prediction after the interviews and overall impression rounds..

Mr.Teen : Sengkang
1st Runner up: Toa PAyoh
2nd Runner up: Pasir ris
3rd runner up: Bukit Merah
4th runner up: Marine Parade

to our amazement, the judges actually overlook on sengkang excellent speaking skills that could have been the key to success for spore to win international pageants. Pasir ris was reallly a wrong choice and we as supporters of Toa payoh also feel that he can be up to the job of champion too

we didnt expect u to do so badly for the pageant..my god..we really thought u lost ur identtity as a model on that night...so disappointing..not outstanding at all, and we have to say that Sengkang and toa payoh did real well and they should get the top 2 posiitons, pasir ris given his bad points should be given 2nd runner up just before Bukit Merah...well SURPRISE is always inevitable for pageants...just what happened in the process of jugding....nobody knows...haha

Toa payoh should clinch the title and the title should never go to pasir ris , it was like a nightmare for pasir ris to represnt Spore, so disgraceful.....sigh......poor judgement, like a bimbo, no thinking nor speaking capabilities....i just wonder how he is judged...sigh.......disappointment.....

the show was a success and i congratulate alan on the success. it was the best show that i have watch for a teen pageant. hope the responses were good

anyway just some comments that i feel, i am someone in the entertainment industry, i realise the trend of giving the title always to a model from a modeling agency. Does it always have to be this case??

Nigel from Pasir ris is a model and we all know that, Toa payoh,Bukit Merah, Marine Parade are all models, does it mean that models must surely enter so as to ensure their FACE in the industry. Well i guess it was really a setback for Bukit Merah, Punggol, Marine Parade and CCK to lose to Sengkang 's Kelvin who is not even a model. Well, i find him a potential model talent and i suppose if there are more chances and training, he will do well in modelling arena. Sengkang seems to be the only guy from the top 5 who is not frm a modelling agency, that was great for him as a newcomer in this circle, this wil pave a gd pathway for him in his future.

Well still there were surprises throughout the show, first was pasir ris clinching the title, second was the fall of the ever popular Bukit Merah and third was the failure of Sengkang and Toa Payoh to clinch the title.

Yishun was gd that night but not as great as the top 5 finalists. i have to say that the top 5 deserves the finalists positions.
The main thing that we discover is Sengkang Smile. His smile is great and we really felt it is charming. haha, we think he is so suitable for all sorts of commercial ads that requires cheerful personality. Hope to see him on a commercial ad one of these days.

Pasir ris really dont deserve the title, no thinking abilities, no presentation skillls and not outstanding, how did he clinch the title, can anyone tell me..we are really surprise by the decision of the judges. Sengkang and Toa Payoh deserves it more than Pasir ris.

Well all in all Yishun, continue to do well and we are behind you, always remember that we are behind you..

well, opinions have to be voiced. We sincerely feel that pasir ris is not up to the job to get the Mr.Teen title, bad speaking is what i can say, too untidy appearance....is this image going to be the one representing Spore in international pageants??Surprised....really surprised...so amazing

Aft the interviews and overall impression, we actually have Sengkang in mind to get the title, his overall impression to most of us is excellent and have got the looks, intellect, and brain and speech and can represent Spore. Bukit merah was bad that day and not at all impressive. Marine Parade should be happy with 4th runner up as he should know roughly where he stands

Well the show was gd but what ironies us is the fact that Pasir ris clinch the title, sengkang deserves it more than him. but what is final is final , there is nothing we can do

As supporters of Toa Payoh, we naturally wished the best for Toa Payoh to win the title, but to our amaze, we actually lost to Pasir ris and that was so surprising.

Fairly speaking, we really have to say that Pasir ris dun deserve the title as he is not equipped with the charm nor the intellect abilities to win or to represent spore.

Fairly Speaking, we think that Sengkang or Toa Payoh should get the title.
Sengkang was real good, really good, his speech made most of the audiences dropped their jaws i think, his speech was movng, to the point and shown sense of thought, maturity and logic. His speech and his looks make him the perfect choice for the title. Even Toa Payoh is better than Pasir Ris, frankly pasir ris is really not up to standard.

Well, really unhappy with the results...not satisfactory and not logical, we cant tell what happened in the process of judging, which is not really logical and make no sense.

I really cant seem to see why and how pasir ris managed to clinch the title, he seem to be a bit bad in his speaking, and cant really express himself well. When they were annoucing the results, i was so shocked coz i actually expected Sengkang or Toa Payoh to clinch the title, they are more up to the job, i really think so.

Sengkang speaks so well and Toa Payoh presents well too, i just dun see any sense to let Pasir ris get the title, i guess he didnt expect that himself.

Well, hope he will improve on his speaking and dun embarrassed Spore pls. Sound more intelligent in his speaking, speak clearly pls.

Well, disappointment is the word to describe my feelings. Although i am not a supporter of Sengkang or Toa PAyoh,but I still stand on fair grounds to judge that one of them should get Mr.Teen, Sengkang speech and presentation skills and his charm, Toa Payoh special charisma, should place them on top 2 positions. The show was indeed a great success. Alan Sim makes a very good host and everything was just perfect! I think it's the BEST pageant I have ever been to!

Well, tomorrow is the final and I assume it would be twice as great.

My prediction for top 5 are:

1. Bukit Merah
2. Toa Payoh
3. Pasir Ris
4. Marine Parade
5. SENGKANG!!!!

My choice for the winner is SENGKANG!!!

Yar... I agree with Mr. Jacob A. Williams, This pageant should be more on the boy's sense of personality.. I mean.. come on lar.. they're only teens... there's a long way for them to go in life! I admire their guts man...
But the prob. is... seems that the judges seem to be rather unprofessional... COME ON MAN... Ms Teen Spore and the owner of B.B Room as judges?... they're def. too unpro. for this kind of duty... they only wan face and bod... SO BIMBO.... and rather homo. how i wish to see those handsome and intelligent chaps on stage once again this coming tue. I have to say that the pageant was a success, no doubt the organisers are gd, the host is excellent and will do even better i hope for the finals. The contestants are generally of above avg standard and iwas rather entertained by the whole show.

Contestants that caught hold of my sight would be Mr. Teen Toa Payoh and Mr. Teen Sengkang.
From my point of view, they are real excellent representation of teenagers in spore today.
Mr Toa Payoh is gd but lack a bit of smile and he seems to act cool for the whole event, he would better correct that habit otherwise i think its unwise for him to win the pageant as i definitely do not wish to see a coolman representing Spore, what we need is someone of gd quality and gdoverall performance.

Mr Sengkang is also gd as well and he is also another excellent representation of teens in Spore today. Handsome, smart looking, intelligent as i heard from the intro, nicre smile and seems approachable. But he was a bit kan cheong , nervous that night.

Well i suppose the top 5 finalists are more or less obvious and whether who will clinch the ultimate title would have to really depends on their Speaking Skills on this coming tue as they go through their interview rds to determine their positions in top5

Sengkang and Marine Parade both have such wonderful smile. Their smile is so charming and i really love that.
Sengkang has got nice str8 white proper teeth and an excellent smile that makes him look charming and i think he suits to film a Darlie or Colgate commercial as that would be convincing to people.

Marine Parade too have a gd smile but too bad, he seems cross eyed to us and rather a too big nose. This 2 bad features made us reconsider the real worth whether Marine Parade should enter the top 5

We guess Punggol, Bukit Merah, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, Toa Payoh would be the top 5 finalists

we think that the champion lies most likely on Mr. Toa Payoh or Mr. Sengkang. They are potential winner and the 3rd place should goes to Bukit Merah who seems to be a model more than a participant, not natural at all.

Firstly,we would congratulate all contestants on completing their presentation show and now heading towards the finals of the pageant. We have to say that the pageant was really a success, With good organisation, good host and venue, we supposed the event definitely turns out to be pretty gd.

Secondly, we would like to comment on a few contestants. Forgive us for being too blunt. We are just speaking from our hearts.

1) Although Mr.Bukit Merah is gd looking, we still think that he should not be the winner. He seems to be having a individual model show rather than a competition of individual spirit and charm. He lack the ability to speak well too, not really fit to represent Spore.

2) Mr. Bukit Batok dont really appeal well to us and we think that his chances of top 5 is rather very slim, he can be one of the top 5 during the preview rds but after seeing the new comer which is the Mr. Sengkang, it seems that he loses so much to Mr. Sengkang and seems to lose his footing at the top 5 seats

3) Mr.Sengkang, It seems that his sudden arrival during the presentation show do add some spice to the stage. A Brand new face on the stage which appeals us to most people as we supposed. His potential of winning the title is there and well, his should be the top fav of the title seat challenging Bukit Merah and Toa Payoh. His speech would help him in the finals we suppose and this might give rise to his high possibility to emerge as the champion

4) Mr.Changi and Tampines are real lousy contestants. One is too ugly with bad smile and the latter is so sissy that we cant stand them. Tampines cheer was loud due to mocking more than cheering we suppose.

5) Well all in all, we wanna predict the top 5 hot seats and they are SENGKANG, TOA PAYOH, BUKIT MERAH, PASIR RIS AND CCK.

wISH THEM ALL THE BEST AND WE SUPPOSE THE WINNER WOULD BE OBVIOUS AFTER THE INTERVIEW ROUNDS IN THE FINALS

Well, we got a lot to say, but we try and reduce it ok?, simply only a few caught our eyes.. Mr Toa Payoh, must be the fav. cos so sexy, but looks unfrenly.. mr sengkang, relak lar!... why so Kan Cheong?.. very smart hor, going to Beijing. Mr CCK, why the heck u SOOOooo HAO LIAN?... Mr B. Merah, not bad, but this is not modelling pageant hor.. Mr Tamp, eh! ask u, how come u look soooo young, like a baby face.. hehe.. very spontaneos lehz.. Mr Yishun, can smile or not? Well, that night was a night of glamorous guys.Good looking and with much charm, some are of real gd standard, some are not. I have to really say that the contestants need to have better speaking skills than before in order to emerge champion for the pageant.

I hope most people realise that the pageant is not just about looks and bods.It is about individual charm, the intelligence and intellect involved. The winner will represent Spore in international pageant, so we musnt have a Nice looking guy who have no intellectual skills to win
the winner should be a all rounder with gd features and a combination of Thinking and reacting skills in order to perform well in interview rds and while representing Spore overseas.


We hope to see someone of good quality to win. Please dont further tarnish the image of Sporean.

Well we have to say that the performance on tue night was rather successful, most candidates are of some quality and calibre. We strongly think that the winner of the apgeant shouldnt be just someone who looks fantastic or someone who just have good features

It seems that in these pageants, looks seems to be the sole criteria for winning, but in our point of view, we think that the winner should not be just a handsome chap, he should have different talents and abilities with a combi of looks and features

Well true enough the appaluse for Mr. Bukit Merah was enormous, but my friends and myself don not think very highly of this particular contestant, he seems to be just parading as a model without good ability to speak or whatso ever.

What mr.Bukit Merah has is just the face, that handsome face.Well, we were most impressed with Mr.Toa Payoh and Mr.Sengkang performance that night. Especially the excellent public speaking skills and intellectual skills of Mr.Teen Sengkang. He is our ideal winner for the title.
He is considered charming, with gd features and gd intellectual abilities. When my friends and myself heard that he likes song composing and heading to China for further studies, we seem quite sure that something was diff with this particular guy

Well, we will continue to be there next tue and lets see who will emerge the champion. Let, we hope not to see just purely A HANDSOME CHAP representing Singapore, it would be so much of a disgrace.

out of the top 5 predicted by most people, mr marine parade and mr sengkang will be my hot favourite among all the other contestant. Mr sengkang is too tense but he will definitely pratise well and might be the 'black horse' of the title winner. mr marine parade although got a bit cock eyed and big nose (sorry for that) but it might be sexy to certain gals like me...but overall, you presented very well in smile too. you.....will be my 1st runner up. mr bukit merah, you should be the 2nd runner up i hope :)

the first presentation round was really great and excellent. it really brings out the standard of the teens of Singapore. anyway would like to say something to the good like mr bukit merah, mr sengkang, mr toa payoh, mr marine parade, mr pasir ris and i hope they are the top 5 of finalist on that day. Indeed mr cck should be in the list too but...you are too old for teen. mr bukit batok is sporty gal lover. to mr tampines and changi, please try up next time. the rest, you all are good too but not as my 5 finalist.

I believe all of us are missing a point here, This is not a "MODELLING" pageant. I'm a jornalist for a fashion firm based in London, HK and S'pore, Its about, as what the organisers have mentioned,'INDIVIDUALISM'. So i'd like to remind all u critics out there not cast only a blind scope upon just looks and body. Remember, whoever wins this event, will represent Singapore in In't pageants. Im sure u all won't want just a pretty face without the virtues of wisdom and character to be the pillar of Singapore's youth
Body ISN'T a criteria and I hope the judges are professional enough to understand that part. That's why, no swim wear segment is featured, replaced by the fashion wear. Now think, who are those that TRUELY represent a teenager? Obviously, Mr Changi and Mr Tampines. i;d like to remind Mr CCK and Mr HG. whether ur striking choice of leather and nylon is appropriate... no hints!
Generally, yes, I agree that in fact ALL them requires polishing up in one field or another... But in retrospect, I'm still most satified with Mr. Toa Payoh, Mr. Pasir Ris, Mr. Tampines, Mr. Marine Parade and Mr. Bukit Batok.

Remember Boys... This is a TEENAGE event.. NOT a modelling one... Beauty is only thy skin's deep.

Mr. Sengkang was fantastic in speaking, he was extremely good at speech and i guess this placed him ain a much better position to vie the top sitting from Bukit Merah and Toa Payoh.

We 2 Girls are Yishun Supporters, but sad to say, it seems that Yishun didnt perform well that night. That is why we diverted our eyes to Mr. Sengkang whom we think is the potential winner for the title.

Well, we will there again to give Sengkang the support and not forgetting Yishun as well.

The interview rounds in the finals as i have been told, i guess would be good for Sengkang as he can excel in that area very well.

I predict that Sengkang would be the Title winner and Bukit Merah the 2nd and Toa Payoh 3rd.

Continue to do well guys and do perform to your best.

In sum, i have to say that the show was a great success, the host was great in MC as well, well, i guess the glamour of the night still falls on the contestants..isnt it?

I would say that the standard of the pageant was rather above average. There are a few good ones and bad ones too.
Well in my viewpoint, some good contestants of standard are like Bukit Merah, Pasir Ris, Sengkang and Toa Payoh.

Some ok guys are like marine Parade, Tampines and maybe CCK

Some are really poor standard, forgive me for being too frank, i would say, AMK and Changi as well as Punggol was of real substandard quality.

My Predictions of the Top 5 are
1.Bukit Merah
2.Pasir Ris
3.Sengkang
4.Toa Payoh
5.Marine Parade

Sengkang was really good that night. Although he was a bit tense but he still manage to cover up some of his nervousness. We a group of youngsters 20+ of age was so much absorbed by his smile and his overall performance. We didnt intend to support him initially as we were there to support mr.bukit merah.

But it seems that sengkang performance was very good and he do really stands a good chance obtaining the pageant, in rival to mr friend who is the Mr.Bukit Merah.

Well, I have to predict that the top 5 finalists should be Pasir ris, Bukit Merah, Sengkang, Marine Parade and Toa Payoh

Tampines is good too but HE was a bit too sissy and CCK was too old for the pageant.

I have things to say about the 3 contestants
Firstly, i think that bukit Merah had performed well but i think he was being too professional in that night and that makes him as if he was casting a show more than a competition. He seemed experienced but lack a bit of charm.

Secondly, I have to say that sengkang was a bit tense on that night. he seemed to be a newcomer on stage as i didnt see him during the talent round. But frankly, he was great. He has a great cheerful smile that charms me and my friends that night who were actually there to support another contestant. But he managed to attract our utmost attention and in this case, he was real successful. I sincerely hope he will be amongst the top 3 winners or even the winner. Well lets cross our finger and see how he performs on next tue night.

Thirdly, i have to say that Changi was one of the worst contestants around, i have to comment directly that he have to improve a lot in order to look better on stage on next tue.

I just came from Mr Teen Singapore 01 presentation show. It was a spectacular show and Alan once again did it. Boom Boom Room was so packed with people and supporters.

All the guys were very good and the standards is very high. It was quite hard to choose the winner. The audience went wild and screaming for everyone of them.

The hot favourites are Bukit Merah, Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh and Sengkang. I believe the winner may come from these guys. These are good too Tampines, Marine Parade, Bukit Batok, Hougang and Choa Chu Kang.

FYI: Alan hosted the show. It was very well organised . He did a GREAT job in hosting it.

Spectacular! spectacular! It was a show that captured the awe of the audience, as the guys paraded down the runways in all their youthful glory and charm.
Each of them, had a special charm and charisma, certainly did appeal to me. I was impressed by Mr Toa Payoh's sense of full-bodiedness and his mesmorising appeal. Same goes to Mr. Pasir Ris, Mr. Marine Parade and Mr. Sengkang. I most impressed and dazzled by Mr Tampines' boyish smile of innocence and charisma. He was also the most gallantly elegant in the evening-wear segment. Mr. Choa Chu Kang's striking choice of appareal, certainly did arouse our visual passions.
All in all, the host, Mr. Alan Sims did an excellent job and his hosting skills is astounding.
I believe the most potential boys are:
Mr. Toa Payoh
Mr. Tampines
Mr. Pasir Ris
Mr. Marine Parade
Mr. Bukit Batok

I bet you guys should remember her since she's the first Miss Singapore who make top 12 in Miss Universe!! She really has that kinda oriental charm! What's she doing now?

The talent round is also good. The contestants are very good. I like the snake dance by Mr Teen Toa Payoh I think. Mr Teen Pasir Ris is also very good. I also like Mr. Teen Changi breakdance.

My favourites are Mr. Teen Bukit Merah, Toa Payoh and Pasir Ris.

Well done Alan. Remember to come for the presentation show on Tuesday, 4 December in Boom Boom Room.

Due to a heavy downpour, the briefing session, scheduled at 3pm at Boom Boom Room, was delayed for half an hour. Despite the dampening weather outside, the contestants were bright and excited about competing in the country’s inaugural MISTER TEEN SINGAPORE Pageant.

For the 1st time ever in the pageantry history in Singapore, the contestants will be representing the estates, instead of being assigned a number.

From the 16 confirmed contestants, 13 of them were present. Bukit Batok, Marine Parade and Tampines weren't unable to attend the session, as they had to sit for their examinations. The main reason for the briefing is to allow the contestants to get acquainted with the MISTER TEEN SINGAPORE Pageant System as well as Alan Sim Productions.

Alan Sim, Director of Alan Sim Productions and Pageant Director of the MISTER TEEN SINGAPORE Pageant, explained the proceeding that will happen over the next 4 weeks of competitions. He also advised the contestants to know more about their estates.

The Contestants were then given a set of 10 identical questions by the SPA for their coverage in the website. Viewers will be able to read their biographies after the Preview Show on November 27, 2001.

In the Preview Show, the Contestants will be introduced to the public for the first time. They will appear in 3 non-judging rounds: Casual Wear, Fashion Wear and Talent.

Who is the most fashionable or the most talented among the aspiring group?

Make a date with them at Boom Boom Room on November 27 at 8 p.m.

Singapore is home to the Manhunt International Pageant. Your country is doing very well in handling this very prestigious pageant. Congratulations. I hope that you can post some pictures of your previous winners at the Hombre International here in this message board. How do you think of Angelina Johnson preformance? I think it is much better than I expected and also better than a few ex-Miss Singapore World.

How do you think of her gown? I find it rather special and interesting but it is too bulky for a evening gown. I even thought that she might have a chance for the Best Evening Gown award but Korea really has a nice gown.

Any comments about her and about new Miss World? How do all of you think of Miss China. Her interpretor is not doing her any justice. However, I am glad that she made the top 5.

Hello:

My brother saw that there is a show about Miss World (but not sure what exactly is it) on TV Works at 7pm on Friday (23/11).

I tried to look for the TV guides and TV Works website but cannot find the program schedule on that day so I am not sure whether I am correct. If anyone has any info, please contribute.

Azmy, I do think you need to pubicilize your board to the other through Pageant Fans HQ or other areas. You should also list it at other websites for people to come (also list it more obviously on your website too). Otherwise, it seems that I am the only person that is posting messages in this message board.

Can you also provide the info and coverage about Mr Teen Singapore and Mr Singapore on this website too.

Hello:

I have just watched the show and noticed that there is no contestant with the codes of 008, 023, 038, 042, 052, 064 and 071. I think most probably those codes are for contestants that withdrew last minute so there are only 93 ladies in total. It is misleading as I thought there are 100 ladies initially.

For me, the ladies that I liked after watching the show are

Korea
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Venezuela
Thailand
Lebanon
Nicaragua
India
Macedonia
Slovakia
Scotland
Australia
Panama

Following behind are Russia, Israel, Italy, Slovenia, Nigeria and Germany. Miss Singapore is much better than what I think initially but the chances of her in top 10 is really slim.

By the way, does any body knows the number to call from Singapore to vote? The number to call for Singapore on the website is not working.

Was just viewing the SPA website. It's very good. But what is this about past MW pageants being telecast in local TV? Is there any more info about this? I was under the impression only MW 01 would be telecast by Works.

Thanks for creating the board. It will be a good place for Singaporean fans to interact. However, you may want to publicize it a bit more, from e-mailing Singaporean fans from GB Club to putting a post in Pageant Fans HQ.

Really hope that Singaporean fans can come here and exchange info. By the way, do anyone knows anything about Angeline Johnson, Miss Singapore World 2001. The only thing I know about her is her name, thats all.

Azmy, can you also update up when TV Works will be showing past Miss World Pageants on TV.
