Subject: My new orchid

I have just bought my first orchid. Is it true it has to be misted everyday? It was half price, $17.50 and I don't want to lose it. It has another thingie coming up to flower. The one has three flowers on it, mauve.
Also added birds-nest fern, rubber tree, burros tail, and 2 succulents of unknown origin. The fun will be to find pic of them and giving them names.
Please advise about the orchid.
Thanks

hi freeze, people only mist them in an attempt to increase humidity.
im not exactly batting a 1000 with orchids, but its my understanding to not let the bark stay wet.
what orchid is it anyway?
congrats on the new additions.
