Subject: Vocabulary reminder

Now that summer is here, some of the undergraduates have become summer students, and they're infesting the labs around the engineering building.
Earlier today, the two that are working in a corner of the lab I occupy were having a grammer discussion. Actually, one was trying to show off his superior knowledge of english grammar by quizzing the other.
Eventually, he asked the other "What is the past tense of 'shit'?"
The other replied, "Uh, shitted? I don't know."
"Hah!" The first one said, "'Shit' is a noun, so there is no past tense."
This brought me back to one day while we were all working on Design. I was in the lounge first and so I had the radio tuned to CBC. Eventually, some other people came to the lounge. Since we were working on design projects, Dwayne was there ( though not necessarily Scott, at least not for another couple of hours ) and I think Craig and Brian may have been there, too. The people on the radio were talking about the origins of Aesop's fables and the woman talked about the story of "the camel that shat in the river". I remember Dwayne saying "Is 'shat' a word?"
Anyway, I think that it just goes to show that the U of S undergrads knew more than these UWO undergrads.
Or, you could say that it just goes to show something I've suspected since I arrived in London: The UWO undergrads don't know shit.
