Speaking as a christian....In no way, shape, or form should anyone* be "forced" to obey a precept of a particular religion and that includes Christianity..

The Country I live in,( U.S.A) were founded upon Christian principals of freedom of choice, and church and state has been wisely* made separate, so that no particular religion may control the state.....and no state may control a particular religion!

It is regrettable that many today ignore the ten commandments- God's immutable moral law..
There is no doubt today that there is wide spread "iniquity"(which means "law-lessness")prevailent in our world today. However, it is my obsevation that this flood of sin("Transgression of the Law" 1John,3:4)that is so commonplace today did not just come from the "world"out of nowhere...

I marvel at surprise of christian groups and churches who denounce, so lately, the crime, murder and lawlessness* found today, yet I have noted a very signifigant statistic...

In the last 40 years ago, as the rise of crime has increased, so has something else....church attendance!

Since God's Law has been "done away with" in the minds of many who attend church, the standard of righteousness has been thrown out along with the Law..

Are the popular churches now going to pick up the very ten commandments their theology has "nailed to the cross" and "done away" with- and utilize "force" to control the consciences of people whom God has given the power of free choice and will to accept, or reject Him?

Sadly, I think this will* happen...I think the Church, in its flagrant rejection of the standard of God's Holy Law in the first place, has given countenance to "lawlessness".
Therefore, converts to many popular churches in recent years, have accepted and preached a lower standard..

It is a highly hippocritical paradox for the ministry to teach that God's Law has been "done away with" and we are not under moral obligation to obey them under the New Covenant;and then turn around and pressure the "state" to make stringent laws which "force"(something God never does) obedience to what their "definition" of obedience to God's Law is, upon the populace...

We cannot ask the state to accomplish what the church has failed to do in the past (and is "suddenly" ,suspiciously interested in now)-;ie-obey the "ten commandments"..

Were was obedience to the ten commandments in the ministry in the last 20 yrs? And today, I still* argue with "christians" whose own theology teaches that the ten commandments, written with the finger of God on tables of "stone*...." and spoken by His voice...have been altered, or abolished(something Jesus stated the opposite of)!!

Forced morality from any particular* church upon the populace has been expressly forbidden by the founders of the country in which I live by the constitution..

In fact,America*was founded largely by pilgrims who were themselves victimised by governments which were controlled by a church (such as the mideavil Papacy)to control their conciences.

Congress is not supposed to pass any law respecting any establishment of religion. This means that I am free to exersize my religion according to the dictates of my own concience. This means that anyone has the right to choose worship......This also means that the state cannot *force me not to worship according to my free choice..That is what my understanding of checks and balances separating the church from having governmental authority, and vice versa- are all about..

The prominent churches are simply reaping the rewards of its own* doctrines through the years-in downplaying the "ten commandments" from the pulpit, they have themselves lost the Power*(yet maintained a "form of Godliness") which they now seek the aid of the state* to enforce upon society...The power of a transformed life..The power of victoy over sin(which is "transgression of the law") given by Jesus christ,by grace ..Romans 6:14

It is very hard to tell, the difference these days between the church and the world....Look at the similarities!!-They dress the same;they have the same love of display, and pride...compete for the same goals....same language...same food and *drink...

And yet the church now , suddenly* has the audacity to insist that we now exalt the very ten commandments they have avoided in the mainstream pulpit for years?

This is rather chilling to me....If a person chooses to be an atheist, I believe that God has given him that choice..a choice the country in which I live guarentees. And since I as a christian, have the right to choose so;does not mean that I would enlist the aid of the state to force the population to obey the precepts of my faith either.

The God I believe in does not force His creatures to obey Him.He has endowed human beings with the sanctity of freewill- that all may choose* to give Him service freely out of a heart of love...Jesus Himself stated-"If you love* Me,keep My commandments."

"He that keepeth my commandments is he that loveth Me.."John 14:21

"For this is the love* of God- that we keep His commandments, and His commanments are not burdensome." 1John 5:3..etc

It is not the spirit of God which "forces" obedience-especially by governmental regulations- it is the spirit of *another under a "christian guise".

The bible likens a church that utilizes the state to seek its own ends, while professing christianity* as spiritual *harlotry...

"you ADLUTERERS and ADULTRESSES*- Do you not know that freindship with the WORLD is to be at enmity against God?"

In Ephesians - Paul uses matrimonial terms to describe God's church.."Husbands-love your wives, as christ loves the church"..

Notice this*- "and the Dragon was wroth with the woman* and went to make war with the rest of her seed..which KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD and have the FAITH of JESUS"...Rev 12:14

Revelation 12 also pictures a church(woman) astride a beast("kingdom" or government)-a "harlot" controlling the "state" to persecute those who do not comply with her dogma..This is something the scriptures have warned of in advance...*see Amos 3:7*
..It is something happening today..along with "ecumenism"

Have you seen how zealous the "religious right" and the "christian coalition " have been in their lament over "lawlessness" and "persecution" of the Church in america? Be very careful.......*
-watch out-
