Subject: A Great Doctor

I am the founder of this board so assuming you have all read the opening statments at the beginning you know a little about my history. For over 15 years now I have been going to doctors on occasion with minor problems that could have been attributed to PPS. For the past three years things have become much more serious. I was having more problems, mostly with sleep, definite muscles weakness, mostly in my legs and other problems. Something dramatic happen to me last October (1999). My wife and I had gone to Las Vegas for 10 days. I was feeling fine except for my usually fatigue which was easy to deal with just by going back to my room and taking a nap. We walked all over the place. I laughingly told my wife that I had not done that much walking in ten years. About two weeks after our return things went down hill for me in a hurry. Since that time I developed the systoms mentioned above and my walking has become so impaired that I now have a handicap tag for my car. I am fortunate to have good insurance and enough personal funds that I began travel to any where in the country if necessary to find a doctor who would find an answer to this sudden change. Ironically I found one and he was just 30 miles from me in Baltimore, Md. When I first met him I was sort of taken back. He is obviouly a brillent person. Also a bit eccentric, but then again, so am I. However, we got through the first the session and he ordered a Lumbar MRI and some serious blood tests. My next session with him was on April 27, 2000 and all I can say about his finding was "WOW!" This guy had zeroed right on the current problem. I have the following:
L4,L5 AND S1 = DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISEASE
LUMBAR STENOSIS
SPINALOSIS
SPINAL CORDESCHEMIA

Now keep in mind I have been to countless other doctors who for what ever reason could not figure this out. Everything was a PPS thing that could not be treated. Obviouly they do not understand that PPS can cause other minor problems to become very acute. Apparently due to my limp all the walking in Vegas caused this to become a major problem. If someone had just said to me "You have to limit your walking", I would have not abused myself this way. But the damage is now done. And thank goodnes this doc figured it out now before I screw things up even more.

I am placing the following here at my descretion. I don't think the good doc will mind.

Dr. W. Keys
