Subject: Dizzyness and Brain "fog"

I've just discovered this chat place and thought I'd add a little note of my own. Dr Bruno has done some publishing and research on effects of brain lessions and Polio. I had Bulbar Polio at age 7 in 1949. I am now 58 and for the last 6 years have been fighting what feels like CFS or a mild case of the flu. So far, I have found out that the virus responsible for Polio attacks areas of the brain that is often misdiagnosed as aging and small blood vessel disease. I had a couple of MRIs done and turns out the virus "peppers" areas of the brain. Still trying to sort out what effect this has on my functions, but here are some things that help me. Rest when you can, but am not able to sleep long times. Vitamins help, but for me not in mega dosages.
Stress activates parts of the brain that are affected. Always feel "on the edge". All the Doctors I have visited treat this as aging problem even when told about PPS. Specific brain info is hard to come by, but progress is going on. There are a couple of articles on Polioensephilitus seems to explain the dizzyness. Diuretics seem to help, but in small doses. The whole hormone system is not right. I am still trying to understand the very complicated chemistry, but so far... Hope this helps.
