IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO 'SAVE MYSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE AND PAIN' BECAUSE MY PARENTS AND MY CHURCH LEADERS ALL THREATENED ME WITH ETERNAL HELL IF I DIDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAID. IT TOOK ME MANY YEARS TO BREAK FREE FROM THEIR INFLUENCE BECAUSE THEY WERE THE PEOPLE I WAS TAUGHT TO LOOK UP TO AND HAVE CONFIDENCE IN.
