What do you like most about a roleplay game?
I like being able to interact with people around the world, and to 'escape' from your day and become someone completely different and possibly not even human...

What do you like least about a roleplay game?
I don't like inactive players, or people who get mad at everything you do and make a fuss about everything... People who just can't say 'hey, this is not reality - nothing's personal, everybody's just acting'. While it may look like it, actors in movies and on TV might not really have the feelings they portray towards the person playing the character, but rather the character itself - they get into it, just a part of them, and they may not really be like that in r/l... It's the same situation online. I hate it when peeps don't seem to understand that... I also dislike the fact that some people are afraid to play their character true to form. Say if a character has been mistreated, abandoned and all that in their life according to the history the player created for this character and they're said to be fairly reserved, I personally would wonder why this character is skipping up to everyone on the streets and greeting them... Or those people that just play their character so that no fights are done, no arguments take place, and so that everything is perfectly happy... Things like that don't happen in r/l. A few people could tread softly, but most have personalities that tend to cause friction with others, no matter what - it's life, face it. I like people playing characters realistically, I hate it when they don't...

What is the most important aspect of a game? (e.g. premise, activeness, structure, lack of structure, nice look, pretty pictures...anything, really) Activeness, creativeness, and how realistic it is, but not to mention organization and page design. It's got to be active, and creative. I've played a few of those sim games that are along the same lines of 'own your own horses and do all this' or 'play as a horse and have fun' games, but those are all... the same. They get dull, with little or no variation between them. Variety is good. Dreamscape is an excellent game - you can find lots of different game selections all in one spot. I like that, not only because there's a wide variety of games in one site, but because each game is different, with it's own unique, interesting and original concept to stand alone from it's brother and sister games... The more interesting it is to play in, the more active I tend to be with my characters. The more active other people are prompts the same result - more interaction makes for more action. They've got to be fairly realistic. I love games with mythicals in them - I find that is an extention on reality for sims, cuz in a sim game it can be any time frame, and any world - especially a made-up world, which I find interesting as well. I like games based loosely on books and video games, and find those amusing too - but ones with fresh concepts are fun.
The thing that kills a lot of games for me is site design. Is it good? Easy to navigate? Load fairly easily? The more organized and better-looking the site, the better the game comes across to the player. There might be an excellent game, but if the page is confusing, or hard-to-navigate thru, or takes forever to load because of wayyyy too many graphics (using stuff for the sake of just using stuff, not to compliment the site's content), I personally might not join because I don't want to spend forever navigating the site.

Do you prefer games like An'kor, where you must go through training to be a certain profession, or games like the Lost Colony, where there is no such requirement?
Either or. An'kor needs the training, because of the game concept. People just go there, and training is something to do there. If training was removed from An'kor and the other Dreamscape games that have it, a lot of activness would go away - there'd be less to do... Lost Colony, however, would probably be worse off with training - because of the concept. A few planets, and a station, and you've got people flocking in from everywhere, with skills and talents, and probably already trained with a long history. To me, that's how I take it. There's things to do there besides training. Sure, a few simple things could possibly be done, like taking students so people can improve skills under people with superior skills than theirs - but there's an interplanetary war to attend to. It's not all that desirable to have to be slowed down and have to train first before you can fight in it - to me, that doesn't make sense, and you'd lose a lot of people there. It all depends on the concept whether I prefer the game with training or without. I prefer them both, and play in both games. An'kor needs either that training or a point to fight and war to keep people busy, while Lost Colony doesn't - it's that simple. As long as a game is active and interesting and the training accents the game instead of taking away from it, I don't mind either one.

Do you like games with many rules or few?
Doesn't matter. Some people tend to elaborate in rules, but those rules are good and meant to make people play the game in a more realistic fashion, and to keep the game under control. It depends on if the rules are useful or not. Too many useless rules will kill a game, but too few will also ruin it - I find that some games get out of hand with too few rules, while some feel almost dictated with too many. A good balance is great...

Do you prefer to play humans or animals?
It depends. I tend to enjoy playing humans more, because it's easier to relate to how they think and feel and act, but animals tend to be a blank canvas - a few guidelines, and then you're free to do what you like. Myticals are great, I find that they give you more freedom - no one really knows for certain how one will act, think or feel, while more known animals are fairly well known on how they act, think and feel.

Well... There you go, I hope it makes at least some sense and sorry it's so long - I had a lot to say... And I hope the Shadowlands comes back soon. I can't think of any things to improve it YET, but I'm gonna be thinking of them. It was a great game, and I miss it...
