Would you have territories that certain herds claim, and it is their board (that I would advise against, for the following. That stucture does not tend to work well, as you get a male and a female and they want to call it a herd and claim a territory, or herds get inactive except for a few but you can't take the tt away, or you have many small herds, more so than territories..also, the other way, you don't have to update boards), or like feral where it is just a place you reside, and you keep track of herd positions yourself (you being the characters)
