Well, here we go again....as far as I am concerned you can try to fit movies and music and art into whatever litle categories you feel comfortable and safe with, whatever makes you feel good and gives you a sense of understanding. To some this may be considered a goth film, it certainly has it's dark moments, but to others it may be a 'film noire', and still to others it may be a glimpse into what their lives are slowly becoming or what they have fought so hard to overcome.
People may have whatever opinions they want about goths in general, much like racist or intolerant ignorants around the world people's opinions mean nothing, it is what people do with their lives to prove them wrong that matters.
Obviously the music video was good enough to win one award already, and the film was good enough to attract the attention of GothCon - so we know that there are important people that do believe in this work.
Like all art there will be critics, and we can scoff at them or get angry - or just see them as a source to drive ourselves to prove them wrong and to continue to pursue our own dreams....
