One thing I was thinking of implementing a while ago was to pick one person in the guild who wanted to go through with it, and help underwrite his/her costs, as a guild.

The guild could hold special fund raising raids for the sole purpose of supporting the crafter. We have an SCer, now we need a GM Alchemist, tailor, armourcrafter, weapon crafter.. Instead of several different people working on the same thing, essentially duplicating effort and costs, pick one person who will be our armourer, weapon crafter, tailor, etc, and support them in their efforts.

There are several options for doing this. One, the guild might underwrite the entire cost. Expensive. Two, we could underwrite a percentage, like say, 50%. Three, we could just donate the total amount of the cash and salvageable loot from whatever raids we have, and whatever percentage that works out to.

The one possible downside to this that I can see is, what happens if that person decides to take his newly-found Legendary Grand Master skills, paid for in part by the guild, to some other guild? That would turn people sour on supporting crafters in general. So that's our dilemma.

Let's hash this out among ourselves, and see if we can come up with anything...
