I have to say, when I had only three it was so easy.. They all peed and pooped on top of their house, so I covered the top with chucks and changed them every week. Oh how I long for those days.. But when I brought Dennis's babies home and 2 others ( Zena and Zola) every thing changed. Now they all pee and poop every where on fensing so the aviary is a horrible mess every week. I have a litter box with some of their waste in it, but they just use it to hide nuts.
Now Squiggy that lives alone in my bathroom and closet goes in a wooden basket that she choose. So for me that is easy , I just have to clean the basket occasionally , taking care not to remove all her smell. But the 10 in the Aviary is a night mare. And now that warm weather is here, if I don't stay on top of it, there is a very unpleasant ordor coming from the aviary.. I'd give anything if they would not pee and poop on the wire.. Any where except the wire. This Aviary is all welded together with a slat floor, (6'x6'x8') It can not be dismantle and power washed outdoors.
