What do you mean restless? Describe it.
What do you mean breathing difficulty? describe it. Rate? labored? deepness? this is often seen in poisonings.

You said ‘restless’ but implied he was moving slower than normal, does he have the strength to jump, climb, etc.

Is he twitching? in the legs? where? This is typical with calcium deficiency or some poisoning. may also appear as a lack of motor skills or inability to move legs.

What are his calcium sources? Try to offer (whole milk/cream on top) yogurt, preferably with a liquid vitamin or if he is really bad a liquid calcium source like the formula Dennis always mentions is best, I will try to look it up.

What has his food and water intake been? Did you add anything to the cage recently? Have you ensured no rodent poison is in your home?

keep him warm offer liquids offer calcium sources.
