Those older gals are not used to human intervention. I've
always just moved the nest box with them in it. They may
not have been touched in well over 5 years. Since that
one lost sight in her one eye, I always tried to not
blind side her. I let her know I was coming toward the
cage if she was out and tried to approach from her good
side so I didn't spook her. She definitely liked to get
treats and was not shy about taking them from me.
