There is so much misinformation on flyers to be found
it is unbelieveable. I've been told many time that I'm
killing my flyers with what I feed them. It must kill
them really slow because they lived thirteen years at
least eating what I feed them.
Walnuts or almonds are ok. Mine grab and eat the seeds
from apples before they eat the apple. So either they
are suicidal or apple seeds are not as dangerous as
noted. Peach pits and therefore the related almond is
supposedly poisonous to them. Mine eat both. I've
heard there is a Chestnut from China that is supposed
to be poisonous. Squirrels eat them in the wild here.
