Subject: What to do with captured SFS in attic?

Hello All,

I am looking for some info about what best to do with a flying squirrel I caught in my attic. While I cannot keep it, I am afraid to release it into the woods in winter. Seems like it would be a death sentence in the cold without an established home. But since it is wild is this the best course of action? You all seem to be quite knowledgeable about flying squirrels, but I wasn't able to find any directly related info reading through the archives.
