I just happened across this message board-I did not even know it existed.........I only knew of the FS Fancier one.....good to know that there are more.....I have one FS that I have had for over 4 months now-rescued her from the wild from my dog..........
Anyway,I have had MANY cats over the years,so many that we had run out of names at one point,so the last one I acquired is "Kitty".....but I do have a "Sputnik",I had a "Smirkin",who got that name one day when,as a little bitty kitten,watched me cleaning up his poo from behind the tv for the umpteenth time,and I swore was SMIRKING at me and thinking, "Go ahead and clean it up,I'm just going to do it again!!"..........
My daughter adopted a dog from her local animal shelter,and she named him Truitt-but after having him for a few months,his name has become "Chew-it",since he ate her brand new I-Pod that she saved up for months for,her diving mask,which she needed for work,her new glasses,her cell phone.......and I'm sure that will not be the end of the list.........
I have a dog named Chamonix,named after my daughter's high school freind-if I could have had another child,that would have been her name,I loved it so much..........but that didnt happen,so,the dog got the name.....it is pronounced "Shom-ah-nee",emphasis on the first syllable.....it is,I believe a Mountain and/or a Ski resort in France............
Not really wierd names,just a little different......
