Subject: Who is Texe Marrs?
In reply to: Colonel Angus 's message, "David Duke is a malignant narcissist." on 04:44:00 02/17/06 Fri

Texe Marrs is a controversial American preacher and conspiracy theorist from Austin, Texas. Well-known author of the #1 landmark national Christian bestseller, Dark Secrets of the New Age, Texe Marrs has also written 35 other books for such major publishers as Simon & Schuster, John Wiley, Prentice Hall/Arco, Stein & Day, and Dow Jones-Irwin. His books have sold over two million copies.

He is strongly opposed to Roman Catholicism, Freemasonry and the New Age. He believes the King James Version of the Bible to be the only accurate translation. Marrs is seemingly a voracious anti-Semite for alleging vast Jewish and Zionist plots against the United States.

Texe Marrs was assistant professor of aerospace studies, teaching American Defense Policy, strategic weapons systems, and related subjects at the University of Texas at Austin from 1977 to 1982. He has also taught international affairs, political science, and psychology for two other universities. A graduate Summa Cum Laude from Park College, Kansas City, Missouri, he earned his Master’s degree at North Carolina State University.

As a career USAF officer (now retired), he commanded communications-electronics and engineering units. He holds a number of military decorations, including the Vietnam Service Medal, and served in Germany, Italy, and throughout Asia.

President of Power of Prophecy Ministries and RiverCrest Publishing in Austin, Texas, Texe Marrs is a frequent guest on radio and TV talk shows throughout the U.S.A. and Canada in response to the public’s search for greater insight into Bible prophecy, secret societies, the New Age movement, and world affairs. His reference book, NewAge Cults and Religions, is the classic guide to New Age groups while his bestselling books, Circle of Intrigue, Project L. U. C.I.D., and Days of Hunger, Days of Chaos, explain world events and the drive by conspiratorial forces for a New World Order. Texe Marrs’ monthly newsletter is distributed to tens of thousands of subscribers around the world. His radio program, Power of Prophecy, is beamed to over 125 nations around the globe.

Texe believes and teaches fellow Christians to believe that Jesus Christ is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and that He is, was, and forever shall be God and is the one mediator between man and God. They believe that the King James Bible is God's perfect word, is without error, and is man's authoritative guide for how we should live. They put great faith in the power of prayer, and that God alone has salvation power through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for our sins and in the belief that God is infinitely more powerful than the devil (Satan, or Lucifer), whom God has already defeated. As Christians they beleve they are commanded to expose evildoers and their works, that they must courageously stand up for truth and justice, that they must confront and defeat corruption wherever they find it, and that they have the right and the obligation to stand fast against wickedness in high places, whether on Earth or in the heavens.

In a nutshell it's accurate to say that Texe and his ministry believe in the power of Bible prophecy, freely acknowledging that God has preordained the future from the beginning and that He holds the future in His hand.

He runs "Living Truth Ministries".
