Hi there. I'm a frequent trumpet player in your shows, and am also President of the Shoreview Northern Lights, a 110-member community band up on the north side of town. My wife and I have played in pits and/or acted in shows at many theaters in town, including Heritage (Maplewood), Woodbury, Plymouth, Cross (Maple Grove), Lakeshore (White Bear) and Riverside (Coon Rapids). So... there you have my credentials, which might lend a little credibility to the following opinion:

What you've got going at BCT is better than anything in town, and that can be attributed to the extraordinary talents of Mr. John Command and Mr. Jeff Whitmill, and to the caliber of actors and musicians they're able to recruit because of these talents. So, my rather obvious advice: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Obviously, I know more about the pits than the stage, and can guarantee you that the great musicians in your pits are there because of Jeff's awesome talent and direction. We play at BCT because it's musically rewarding, intense, challenging and fun, a combination not easily found in the "non-paid" world. Just go to another community theater sometime, and compare the instrumental music there to what you've got. Night and day, believe me, and people go to theater for what they hear just as much as for what they see.

Keep this great thing going, folks! Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Tom
