Monica -

We hold auditions before rehearsals begin for each of our shows. Generally, these auditions occur about a week or so before rehearsals start, or (roughly) 7-8 weeks before the show opens.

If you'll periodically check our web site, we'll post audition information there when it becomes available.

As to getting experience, you're in a good place - the Twin Cities have quite a few community theatres, and virtually all of them are always looking for new talent. Check the Star Tribune for audition notices - many companies advertise there. If there are plays and musicals at your school, audition for them.

As much as you can, take in performances at the professional venues in town - the Guthrie and the Ordway, for example - it's always good to watch pros at work.

And if you haven't already, come see our production of GYPSY ;) - it's excellent community theatre, and you'll see some some first-rate performances.

HTH,

Jeff Whitmill
Musical Director
Bloomington Civic Theatre
