Her platinum mane clung to her golden neck, pasted there by a thin sheen of sweat. Her wide blue eyes surveyed the land before her as she nodded in satisfaction. Nudging the colt and filly in turn, she settled comfortably on three hooves to await the lead.

The colt, nearly a stallion, allowed this moment of maternal reassurance merely because he felt that his mother needed it more than he. Arching his crested neck, he looked around for a moment. A happy grin crossed his lips as he noticed Black Mist and Remy. They wouldn't be alone after all, his godmother was with them.

Her diminutive frame shook with fatigue and apprehension as the filly huddled next to her mother. Barely a year old, she was still traumatized by the loss of her father and her twin. Her crystalline eyes were reminiscent of clear skies and were contrasted nicely with her liver chestnut coat. This new home hardly filled her with excitement as was the case with her brother. Her sense of loss was too great to be overcome at this time, maybe sometime in the near future she could be roused from her memories enough to have some ascertainable reaction.
