I personally do not think this film is great.
The use of color is believed to be "inspired" (this word is polite - what lies beneath is that Speilberg was not original and creative at all) by Akira Kurosawa ¶Â¿A©ú's High And Low ¤Ñ°ê»P¦aº». Talking about colours, Scorsese is definitely the master. Many others too. Speilberg is nothing compared to him/ them.

Schindler's List, I must say that I was moved by it...Coz I must admit that this Speilberg is very good at managing time and rythem, and manipulating audience' respone, in a way that can make them feel entertaining or excited and never bored. For example let Schindler be able to save the people in the train from the German soldier at the last minute. He's good at calculating that. But for artistic achievement, Sorry, nothing.

Actually the film is too shallow, it is all too empty. There is little psychological examination and exploration of the character(s). Everything is plain. There are just facts, processes, events, but never motives, psychologies, persnoalities, and most importantly, the director's own visions, which are vital elements for defining a "great film". In the first half of the film, Schindelr is nothing but a business man, all he wants is to make money. And then later he changes and wants to save the people. What exactly is in his head? nothing is told. Simply the red colored girl calls up his conscience and then he starts to save the people? Come on, this is too simple, too naive, too shallow. There is actually no clear portrayal of this Schindler character. He was so money-oriented at the beginning, but seems so generous and heroic at the end, what should i think about him? I dun't get enough infomation from the film to have my judgement. What does hie think about the Nazi? What does the accountant think about him and what does he think about the accountant? Nothing is told. If you want to make a good film, you cant make it all that simple without showing his inner struggles, addressing Schindler's psychology, his real motive.

And there are discursive details and trivials that simply aren't related to the central point...such as the sex scene of Schindler? What's that for? I simply can't figure out its significance. You may say it is for showing Schindler's many faces, for showing that he's not a saint but just a human being who likes woman/ sex. BUT if this is the truth, then it is all too navie! Audience with a 12-year-old boy's intelligence will be satisfied with this straight forwarded and simplified way of storytelling, but those who are older...well, i doubt so.

What is told is not FACT and HISTORY. It is just trying to make you feel that what you are being told is fact and history, i think one must be aware of this.

In fact I watched it long time ago, so I cannot recall much of it. But it will never be my favourtie film, because it never goes into my soul.

by the way, your name is interesting, what does it mean?

>I have just watched the "Schindler's list". To a
