In 1977, Anneke𠏋 Bridesmaid wasn㦙 the worst band in the world by any means, but you could place them comfortably in the bottom 5% without offending anybody.

Talent aside, charismatic front man Bernard Fripp (aka Bernie Fire) had the contacts and the backers to make a tidy once-off fortune from the highly manufactured album entitled 𣫮isk Of Entrapment�. However a severe public relations disaster saw his dream crumble in an instant, with sales of less than 200 units, and the subsequent crash of an entire recording company based on his mistake. Anneke𠏋 Bridesmaid was over before it could begin.

Twenty three years later, and Bernard is now a successful, cynical, and bored rural Bank Manager planning an early retirement. Gregory Bildge (drums) works on the railway when he can spare the time from his drinking, whilst Sley Prattman (bass) is a balding and failing aristocratic politician, about to lose his seat.

Roland Beef (guitar) had never played a note on the album, and in fact had never played an instrument at all. He had been let join the band because of his father𠏋 financial input, and even then only 3 days prior to the band𠏋 demise. Now third in charge of his family company𠏋 canteen, Roland has never managed to stop bragging about being a former rock star.

Roland𠏋 obnoxious family owns a large advertising agency, and have enlisted the help of English super-model Portia Smarte in a program to assist with a planned merger. Roland has also benefited with a token promotion for credibility purposes. Portia has a fascination for 𢘫usicians�, and takes an immediate romantic liking to the bumbling and over-confident Roland. Roland leaves Australia to join Portia in England, giving him instant notoriety.

Unable to explain Roland, the press take his alleged rock star past at face value, and glorify Anneke𠏋 Bridesmaid as a band who had so much integrity, that they actually encouraged their followers not to buy their works. Although only a handful of people would be likely to remember the band, most of the population would never dare admit to not being a true fan. Roland𠏋 celebrity status grows continuously, getting the attention of Valdo Rigoli.

Valdo 孏he Doctor� Rigoli, is an international marketing genius, who immediately capitalises on the newly found fame of Roland, and sets out to mastermind a multi-million dollar industry based on Roland, and founded on pure perceptions. However, re-engineering the album is a lot easier than the publicity tour, and total re-imaging of the unlikable foursome.

The story follows the bizarre world of commercialism that few get to see. The quest for sales, sponsorship, merchandise, and the all-important world tour, is peppered with the expected scandals, litigations, hostility, rampant commercialism, and substantial falls from grace.

The Bit Left Over is about the things you want, and what makes you want them. And if you don㦙 know why you want, and why you bought, it doesn㦙 matter. Does it?
