Subject: Power steering uses ATF

The PO of my car had placed power steering fluid in the power steering fluid reservior and been running with it for a few years, not ATF.
Is this a show stopper ?? I've since replaced the lines and reservior with ATF and frequently drain and re-fill reservior with clean fluid.

Use Synthetic - Say Mobil-1 ATF

No way to know if there was damage due to power steering fluid. You are doing the right thing with the flushes. May want to drain fluid from lowest point in the steering rack too. Big believer in synthetic fluid.
