Subject: Electrical gremlins

My '85 exhibits some strange electrical symptoms that I have yet to diagnose, maybe some of you can help me troubleshoot.

Here's the deal: the power locks, interior courtesy lights, and courtesy chimes sometimes work, sometimes don't. When one works, the others always work, and vice-versa. The button on the center console that controls the power locks has always worked--it's when I lock/unlock the doors from the outside with the key that the power function sometimes fails. Also, when the locks, courtesy lights and chimes are not working, I can open and close the windows even if the key is not in the ignition. When the locks, lights and chimes are working, I can only open/close the windows if the key is in.

Currently, the locks/lights/chimes are not working, though a week ago they were. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. What should I check next?

Thanks,
Paul C.
85S
