Hi Tim,

I did a few runs today, and estimated that my car performs according to the specs in the owner's manual 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. That was using a wrist watch and the quick one one thousand, two ... method.

I had the heads rebuilt, and installed lots of new parts. I set the timing up according to a factory training video that is different from the factory repair manual. Setting the timing requires removal of the cam covers, and front timing belt covers. You then measure hydraulic lifter movement with a dial indicator, and adjust timing belt cam gears. It is extremely difficult. You would have to buy upper engine rubber replacements to perform the task. Porsche usually says that it is set at the factory, and cannot be adjusted.

Try the synthetics. Please let me know if that helps.

HTH
Good Luck
