I think it's time to find out how to change those plugs (and do a compression test). I find it rather strange that the guy would take it upon himself to do a compression check of your engine......without your approval, and for no reason........kind of makes me wonder. Kind of makes me think he's looking at you for some extended work, eh???

I'm not sure if this is the plan with the aluminum Porsche V8, but with all other engines you do the compression test with a warm engine (preferred) and with the throttle wide open. With fuel injection the wide open throttle may be a mute point.

I'd run the motor and get it warm, pop the plugs, and screw in a compression tester that had a long lead tube with it....and have a friend crank the motor (will spin easy with no plugs). You'll have to remove the air tubes, but this is a very simple thing to do, have fun working on a warm momo!

good luck, P

If you find the guy was not telling you the truth, I would NEVER set foot in that shop again.
