Euro models had a 6" side marker light behind the front wheel wells, whereas North American models came with side marker lights in front of the front fenders and behind the rear wheel wells.

The "S" models came with the front and rear spoilers, a little extra horsepower and stiffer springs, but the spoilers were an easy add-on so aren't necessarily a good indication. A possible clue would be whether or not there were air ducts running from the front spoiler to the brakes, which were part of the factory option, but rarely installed after-market.
