Subject: Alternator on a S4 not above 12VDC

Hi:
I recently noticed my 928 having a charging problem.
The 1988 S4 has 110K miles. I just noticed it does not read above 12volts. When the lights and A/C are on it drops. I am thinking a diode within the alternator. I have not done anything. Yup the belt is tight. Any suggestions on repair kits, or place where I can buy a new or refurbished unit in San Francisco CA?

Thanks
Steve
