You didn't say which 3 cylinders don't work. The S4 has two separate ignition circuits that include two coils, two distributors, and two ignition controllers. Most likely you have 1/2 of the spark system not working. The ignition controllers are up front on the left side (as a driver looks out the windscreen) side of the car.

I'd suggest pulling the connectors to the spark controllers and see if they are corroded.

The S4 has a separate spark controller (EZK) unit that is located in the kick panel on the passenger side (LH drive models, I don't know about RH drive models), it is the module located on the inside (towards the centre). This is the unit that controls the spark. If you need the pin-out of the EZK connector to make some checks I can email it to you.

The S4 also has a separate LH fuel injection controller, this one is located to the outside of the car.

There is a chap in Holland, he lives near Venlo. His website is http://home.wxs.nl/~Jennit/Porsche.htm
He may be able to help you find a decent mechanic.

Good luck,
Rich
