. blood music .
...By day the blinding conflagration hovered over the feral region, radiating its beams of illumination to the realm below. Caravans of four-leggeds traversed through the forsaken valleys, desperate for shelter from the blazing heat. Sound talons lacerating the parched sierra, unshodden impressions made. Only sonances heard are that of traveling flocks, the horses' mouths suffering from dehydration and unwilling to waste saliva. If a bevy should be so fortunate as to locate pleasant regions- though often after hours of searching- their efforts are rewarded. Mellifluous rivulets flow through the desirable swarths, snaking as erratically as a butterfly. Equus rewarded with banquets of sage and juniper, rather than the crabgrass present elsewhere...

...Of course, few are rewarded...

...By midnight the craterous entity, a dwarf in comparison to the ablaze gargantuan observed by day, lit the realm with its scarce pallid coruscation. diminutive stars twinkled, brilliant whites against the cloudy sable. Its appearance was welcomed, equus jubilant at its arrival. Now was a time for feasting on lush verdancy that was unparched, galloping throughout the swarths without it being excessively tiresome. Melodious tones mingled in the hazy atmosphere, placid whickers and vicious baritones alike. Brujas and tyrants dueling for supremacy, bloodlust crossing acrid luminaries. Acoustic duets largely flattened... the ambiance malevolent, tense. Equines rushing to witness the sparring partners, attracted to the excitement as the flies were to crimson. Clarion declarations of war filling the air...

...Blood Music to my ears...
